The west of Mallorca is home to some of the most picturesque and well-known cities and towns on the whole island. The area is surrounded by marvellous mountains and is often known as having some of the best hiking and cycling routes on the island. It is not uncommon to find professional teams and athletes training in the mountains.

The most famous of these routes is the world-famous Sa Calobra climb. This route is among the most challenging on the island, but it's definitely worth it as it offers some of the best views you can get.

While Western Mallorca is definitely known for its outdoor adventures, it definitely has a lot more to offer. The area is filled with some of the most historic and significant cultural towns on the island, including the lovely towns of Sóller, Puerto de Sóller, Deià, Fornalutx and Valldemossa. These are some of the most popular and beautiful towns in Mallorca that combine a little bit of everything to make sure visitors have a memorable experience.

The town of Sóller is regarded by many as a must-visit place when in Mallorca. The beautiful town is located not too far away from Palma and offers a variety of experiences and things to do. One of the most popular attractions in Mallorca is the scenic 27-km train ride from Palma to Sóller. The hour-long ride is popular because it goes through a splendid route next to the sea and through the mountains offering passengers a unique experience. The town itself is a beautiful traditional town with lovely Art Nouveau architecture and historic buildings. The town is most popular on Saturdays when the market is open and loads of fresh produce from the local farms is on sale. The town is also a seven-minute tram ride away from the stunning Port de Sóller which is also a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Fornalutx is probably the most iconic village in Mallorca. The beautiful hillside village is only 2 km away from Sóller and has been named the prettiest village in Spain. This ancient village that was 1000 years ago part of an Arab farmstead has proudly preserved its traditions and history. It features beautiful centuries-old buildings, stunning architecture and a 500-year-old Gothic church. The village itself is considered an attraction and walking through its cobblestone streets and ancient buildings takes you back in time and is a magical experience hard to find anywhere else.

The western region of the island definitely has some of the most magical places to spend your holidays. It’s a place where you are guaranteed to have magical experiences and what better way to experience them than in one of our magical luxury villas in the region.
