The central region of the island has managed to distinguish itself from the rest of the island as a major cultural and historical hub. Despite being a distance away from the sandy beaches of Palma, this area contains some of the most interesting and captivating towns and villages in Mallorca

The area is dubbed the heart of Mallorca and is home to the island's oldest traditions and history. From ancient Talaiotic ruins dating back thousands of years to remnants of the mighty Roman empire and more recently Moorish and Christian influences. The area has retained many architectural as well as social influences from these civilizations while some have seemingly remained in the past. The most notable landmarks are, for example, Castell d’Alaró located in the lovely 13th-century town of Alaró.  The castle is built on top of a majestic hill and witnessed a bloody battle in the 13th century which saw the Moors resist Catalan conquest for more than two years. The castle sits on top of a soaring peak with stunning views over Mallorca.

The main attractions however are the famous wineries that are regarded as some of Mallorca's and Spain's finest. The area is full of beautiful vineyards and in recent years manufacturers have opened their doors to visitors. Wine enthusiasts or those simply curious can participate in a wine route around the Binissalem area that consists of 14 wineries. Most of these villas have vineyards or are in close proximity to the best wineries (bodegas) in the area.

At Mallorca Collection we have handpicked exclusive luxury holiday villas in the most prominent and interesting towns and villages in this part of the island to make sure you get the best out of your holiday.  We have villas In the wine capital of Binissalem as well as in the beautiful towns of Caimari and Algaida.

  • The center of the island, known as Es Pla, is the absolute epitome of Mediterranean slow living. Far removed from the coastal crowds, it offers a deeply authentic, rural escape characterized by rolling agricultural plains, almond orchards, and historic stone windmills. It is the perfect destination for discerning travelers seeking profound silence, starlit nights, and total privacy in an exclusive country estate.
  • Our collection in the center of the island primarily features magnificent "fincas" and historic "possessiós" (Mallorcan manor houses). These rural estates have been masterfully restored to combine traditional golden-stone architecture with ultra-modern luxury. You can expect expansive private grounds, enormous swimming pools, Mediterranean courtyards, and state-of-the-art kitchens.
  • Yes, the central plains are a world-class destination for elite cycling. The completely flat, uncrowded country lanes provide an incredibly safe and scenic environment for long rides. Additionally, the region serves as a strategic base camp, offering quick and easy access to the challenging mountain ascents of the Tramuntana range just a short distance away.
  • Central Mallorca is the island's premier wine destination, heavily centered around the D.O. Binissalem region. You can enjoy private wine tastings at boutique organic bodegas. The area is also famous for its traditional gastronomy and vibrant agricultural markets, such as the Wednesday market in Sineu. Our concierge can effortlessly arrange for a private chef to source local ingredients and prepare a farm-to-table feast in your villa.
  • One of the greatest advantages of staying in the center of Mallorca is its unparalleled strategic location. Despite your profound rural seclusion, you are never far from the sea. By car, you can reach the dramatic, turquoise coves of the north coast (like Pollensa or Alcudia) or the Caribbean-like white sands of the south (like Es Trenc) in approximately 30 to 40 minutes.
