Sa Rapita

You may have heard of the famous Es Trenc beach. It is the longest virgin sand beach on the island and one of the main tourist attractions thanks to its Caribbean-type appearance. The village of Sa Rapita is very close to this paradise beach and the neighbouring beach of Ses Covetes. The charm of Sa Rapita is due to the fact that it preserves the authenticity of traditional Mallorca with no large hotels or big buildings on the seafront. Based on the south coast within the municipality of Campos, this small village attracts travellers seeking refinement, with the coast and its turquoise waters offering a scene of tranquillity.

Sa Rapita has a nice marina where you can rent any nautical equipment and boats. It also has a restaurant offering the best of the area's seafood. Here you can take a boat trip to the marine reserve islands of Cabrera. This archipelago was once used for French prisoners during the Napoleonic wars in the 1800s, many of whom did not survive. Today the islands are a haven for migratory birds and brimming with marine biodiversity, so the perfect place to go snorkelling or diving.

In the same area, you can experience the summer resort of Colonia de Sant Jordi or the beach of Cala Pi. A recommended stop is to visit Sal d'Es Trenc, a factory and salt plain where the best artisan salt is collected for cooking. In addition to visiting these natural salt flats, you can also see wildlife such as flamingos in the area.
